Physical Appearance:
Harry's inconspicuous dark-brown hair would frame his face better if he bothered to have it cut frequently. He keeps it longer, in a way that is at once roguish and messy, to suruptitiously hide the lightning-bolt scar across his forhead. He still dislikes the way people talk to the scar... instead of to his face. Its presence is a dark reminder of what lurks outside the safety of Hoggwarts.
16 has hit Harry Potter with all the force of a semi-truck and his muscles still haven't caught up with his gangly body. Grace in the air is blessedly different from grace on the ground; on a broomstick no one cares how long your legs are, and you don't tend to trip over them. He'd be downright graceful if he could learn to walk like he flies.
Personality/Brief History:
Harry's childhood with the Dursley's gave him a thick skin when it comes to torment, but left him with a wounded ego. He deeply fears that the Slytherin taunts will come true, and that he will fall in love with his own legend.
Being "The Boy Who Lived" has weighted heavily upon Harry since his introduction to the wizarding world. Discovering that his fate came down to a 50-50 coin toss has shaken his confidence even further. In his nightmares he sometimes hears himself wish that Voldemort had chosen Neville instead... after all, it wouldn't have left Neville any worse off than he already was. His quiet terror at his link to Voldemort has never quite faded, and he worries that those dreams are his evil leaking through.
Harry longs to be more than a legend or rallying point. He wants people to get to know him as a person rather than a symbol, but the people he cares about have a nasty habit of getting hurt or killed. Hermione and Ron have proven their tenacity, but Harry wouldn't dare ask anyone else to care about him for fear they would lack the survival instinct of his only two real friends.
So, even if they don't always get along, Hermione and Ron are the only two people he trusts to see past the scar and see the shaken young man (who only happens to have a knack for Quiddich and a touch of bravery)... and the Weasleys are the closest thing to a family that Harry Potter has left now.
Sexuality:
After disasterous results with Cho Chang of Ravenclaw, Harry has put thoughts of romance on the back burner. Just watching Ron and Hermione reminds him why it should *stay there* for the time being.
Yeah, his hormones race, but not nearly as often as his adrenaline does. A wizard war is brewing, and now is not the time for hearts and flowers... there are lessons to be studied, protective incanatations to be practiced in secret and, if one gets a chance, a little freedom and joy can be found in the sky.
